With industries and business developing quickly, the number of trees in many big cities has dramatically reduces. Efforts are being made to prevent people from cutting more trees. But a lot of trees are being destroyed by people who have never thought of the importance of green plants.Making cities greener has many advantages. First, it can make our air cleaner. Some researchers have proved that trees can reduce the amount of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere through absorption. Second, it can make our cities more beautiful. With trees and flowers everywhere, living conditions can be improved.
Finally, it can produce timber----an effective way to solve the problems of limited supply of natural resources.
Making our cities greener requires nationwide efforts. People in every field should not only know about the importance of keeping the quality of urban environment, but also take common action to plant more trees and flowers so as to improve our living conditions.

北京有许多好吃的东西。我们就来说几样吧！北京烤鸭天下闻名，那烤鸭我吃过一回。一整只鸭子，放到火上烤，直到烤得皮焦肉嫩，一口咬下去，皮咬得咯吱咯吱响，肉也很香，那才叫享受呢！北京还有糖葫芦，把鲜红的山楂滚上一层焦黄色的糖，好吃极了。
北京有许多值得我们学习的东西。据说中国共产党四战北平，前三次都没有获得胜利，但共产党没有放弃，终于在最后一次攻入了北平。我从中学会了只要坚持不懈，你一定会胜利的道理。
北京还有很多好玩的去处。比如皮影戏，我在北京看了“鹬蚌相争，渔翁得利”的皮影戏，真是逼真极了。爸爸告诉我，有人拿着皮影在屏后来回走动，扯动皮影，形成鲜活的动画场面，这是中国传统文化的结晶。我们还去看了升旗仪式。我半夜一点钟就起床了，来到天安门广场。广场上已是人头攒动，人人都抱着热切的心情等待着，盼望着。国旗升起时我发现太阳也跟着升了起来。那庄严肃穆、激动人心的升旗场面至今让我记忆犹新。

Ms. Li, our English teacher, must have found it strange on Teachers’ Day: she did not receive a single greeting card from us students. She would have never thought a complete surprise was waiting for her.
As Teachers’ Day was approaching, our class decided to hold a party to celebrate the important day for a change this year. On the afternoon of September 10，some of us decorated our classroom with paper flowers and balloons, and others went to buy cakes, drinks and fruits. The blackboard was decorated with beautiful words, which read “Happy Teachers’ Day!”
Entering the classroom, Ms. Li was surprised to find we were standing in line, clapping hands and saying loudly “Happy Teachers’ Day!” Wang Hua, our monitor, presented her with the prepared flowers. Some of the girls sang songs for Ms. Li, and three boys showed their kung fu talent. Before we left, we enjoyed a new English song by Ms. Li.
Ms. Li spent a wonderful time with us, but we know that we cannot thank her enough for all her hard work and guidance.

因为是母亲节，我打算把自己亲手做的贺卡送给妈妈，但我却是一个不爱表达自己的孩子，像这种贺卡我怎么能送出手呢？在妈妈睡觉时放在她的枕头旁边？不行。如果妈妈看不到怎么办？把贺卡给爸爸让爸爸给妈妈？不行，爸爸该说我是胆小鬼了？怎么办呢？不，我不能用这些方法，我要自己亲手送给妈妈。早上，我拿着事先准备好的贺卡藏在身后，妈妈正坐在沙发上看电视，我尽量让自己静下心来，一步步走向客厅中间。我心中的大石头一晃一晃的'，但我保持冷静，走向妈妈面前，拿出了藏在身后的贺卡，而妈妈一脸迷惑，我大声地说：“妈妈，祝您母亲节快乐！”接着我念出了我自己编的诗歌，当念完时，我已经感觉到妈妈热泪盈眶了，我双手把贺卡递给妈妈，妈妈顿时就抱住了我，说：“谦儿，你真的长大了！”妈妈松开我时，我一眼就发现了以前没有发现的事物：妈妈头上那漂亮的黑发已被几根白发打乱，这时我才感觉到妈妈有多么爱我！

In Yueyang, the white and beautiful gardenia is its city flower while the flourishing Duying (Long-flowered ehretia) tree is its city tree. The flowers and the trees add a charming lustre to Yueyang.However, Yueyang's real charm rests with human cultural relics as well as the natural landscape. The well-known Yueyang Pavilion (Yueyang Lou) is one of the three famous pavilions in South China. China's second largest freshwater lake Dongting Lake is a good tourist destination in Yueyang. 北京是我国的道都，是今人向往的城市。它有着悠久的历史，灿烂的文化，是我国的政治，经济和文化中心；它有着辉煌的过去，更有着美好的明天。
我真的好想去北京，想去看看哪里的颐和园，想去尝尝哪里的。烤鸭、涮羊肉、烤牛肉。想去北京的所有的地方。
北京的颐和园坐落在北京西郊，是中国古典园林之首，是世界著名的皇家园林。总面积约为2.9平方千米，也是世界上面积最大的皇家园林之一。1988年11月颐和园被列入《世界遗产名录》。北京的西山脚下，泉泽遍野，群峰叠翠，风景如画。从公元11世纪起这里就开始营建皇家园林。1860年被八国联军焚毁，1886年慈禧太后重新修建，并名为颐和园。
听完这些，我更想去北京了，明年假期，我一定要去北京|！

北京是一个古老美丽的城市。打它建城到现在已经有3000多年的历史了，辽金元明清五朝均在此建都。这里有闻名世界的颐和园、圆明园、紫禁城、北海、天坛，名胜古迹真是好多呀！春天我们可以到玉渊潭看樱花，夏天到胡同看民居，秋天到香山看枫叶，冬天到时刹海去溜冰。
北京也是一个现代时尚的城市。2008奥运年，北京出现了很多新地标式的建筑，象鸟巢、水立方、玲珑塔，它们的造型奇特多姿，运用了尖端科技成果，体现了“科技奥运”的精神。现在的交通很发达，汽车、自行车、地铁、轻轨各式各样的交通工具使得人们的出行选择越来越多。不过，车流量太大了，交通常常堵塞，所以我们通过限行来减轻交通压力。北京的互联网更加发达了，百度、SOGO、QQ、搜狐、雅虎帮助我们更快地了解外面的世界，通过了它们大家可以聊天、购物、玩游戏，看视频，最主要的是电脑可以帮助人们有效率地工作。
