Responsibility is a Badge of Honour for Youth
Facing this audience on the stage, I have the exciting feeling of participating in the march of history, for what we are facing today is more than a mere competition or contest. It is an assembly of some of Chinas most talented and motivated people, representatives of a younger generation that are preparing themselves for the coming of a new century.
Im grateful that Ive been given this opportunity, at such a historic moment, to stand here as a spokesman of my generation and to take a serious look back at the past 15 years, a crucial period for every one of us and for this nation as well.
Though it is only within my power to tell about my personal experience, and only a tiny fragment of it at that, it still represents, I believe, the root of a spirit which has been essential to me and to all the people bred by the past 15 years.
In my elementary years, there was a little girl in the class who worked very hard but somehow could never do satisfactorily in her lessons.
The teacher asked me to help her, and it was obvious that she expected a lot from me. but
as a young boy, restless, thoughtless, I always tried to evade her so as to get more time to enjoy myself.
One day before the final exam, she came up to me and said, "Could you please explain this to meI want very much to do better this time. " I started explaining, and finished in a hurry. Pretending not to notice her still confused eyes, I ran off quickly. Nat surprisingly, she again did very badly in the exam. And two months later, at the beginning of the new semester, word came of her death of blood cancer. No one ever knew about the little task I failed to fulfill, but I couldnt forgive myself. I simply couldnt forget her eyes, which seem to be asking, "Why didnt you do a little more to help me, when it was so easy for youWhy didnt you understand a little better the trust placed in you, so that I would not have to leave this world in such pain and regret"
I was about eight or nine years old at that time, but in a way it was the very starting point of my life, for I began to understand the word "responsibility" and to learn to always do my duties faithfully and devotedly, for the implications of that sacred word has dawned on me: the mutual need and trust of people, the co-operation and inter-reliance which are the very foundation of human society.
Later in my life, I continued to experience many failures. But never again did I feel that regret which struck me at the death of the girl, for it makes my heart satisfied to think that I have always done everything in my power to fulfill my responsibilities as best I can.
As I grew up, changed and improved by this incident and many other similar ones, I began to perceive the changes taking place around me and to find that society, in a way, was in its formative years like myself. New buildings, new commodities and new fashions appear every day.
New ideas, new information, new technologies. People can talk with each other from any corner of the earth in a matter of seconds. Society is becoming more competitive.
Words like individuality and creativity are getting more emphasis and more people are rewarded for their hard work and efforts. Such is the era in which this generation ,grows and matures.
Such is the era in which this generation will take over the nation from our fathers and learn to run it. Yet in the meantime, many problems still exist.
We learn that crimes take place in broad daylight with crowds of people looking on and not assisting. We hear that there are still about 1 million children in this country who cant even afford to go to elementary schools while enormous sums of money are being squandered away on dinner parties and luxury cars.
We buy shoddy medicines, or merely worthless junk in the name of medicines, that aggravate, rather than alleviate our diseases since money, many people believe, is the most important thing in the world that must be made, even at the expense of morality and responsibility.
Such an era, therefore, determines that we are a generation with a keener sense of competition and efficiency and a greater readiness to think critically and act creatively.
Such an era, furthermore, demands, that we are a generation with a clear perception of our historical responsibility and an aggressive will to take action and solve the problems. History has long been preparing these qualities in this generation and it is now calling us forward to give testimony to our patriotism and heroism towards this nation and all humanity.
Standing here now, I think of the past 15 years of my life as an ordinary student. Probably Ill be an ordinary man for the rest of my life. But this doesnt discourage me any, for I know that with my sense of responsibility and devoted efforts to always strive, for the best, its going to be a meaningful and worthwhile life that I will be living.
Standing here now, I think of the past 15 years of this nation, which has achieved greatness that inspired millions of people of my age, most of whom will not attain fame or prestige and only a few of whom will be remembered by posterity. But that doesnt discourage us any, because we know that the world watches, the world listens, the world is waiting to see where this nation will be heading in a time of rich opportunities and fierce competition.
I cant ever forget that little girl in my class who couldnt had the same opportunities as any of us here to enjoy a wonderful life today and a hopeful world tomorrow.
It is the sacred responsibility of this generation to face up to the challenges of the new century and to devote our sweat and blood, our wisdom and passion, to the historic cause of making this nation a greater and happier land for every one of us.
We are not going to evade that responsibility. We are going to let people down. And people, far and near, will hear of us. Frost will be brought to their backbones and tears to their eyes when our stories are told and retold, So let us go forth, my fellow members of this luckily chosen generation, and meet the new century in victory and glory.
If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. If I give all I possess to the poor and surrender my body to the flames, but have not love, I gain nothing.
Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.
Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away. For we know in part and we prophesy in part, but when perfection comes, the imperfect disappears. When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put childish ways behind me. Now we see but a poor reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known. And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.
It hurts to love someone and not be loved in return. But what is more painful is to love someone and never find the courage to let that person know how you feel.
A sad thing in life is when you meet someone who means a lot to you, only to find out in the end that it was never meant to be and you just have to let go.
The best kind of friend is the kind you can sit on a porch swing with, never say a word, and then walk away feeling like it was the best conversation you've ever had.
It's true that we don't know what we've got until we lose it, but it's also true that we don't know what we've been missing until it arrives.
It takes only a minute to get a crush on someone, an hour to like someone, and a day to love someone but it takes a lifetime to forget someone. Don't go for looks; they can deceive. Don't go for wealth, even that fades away. Go for someone who makes you smile because it takes only a smile to make a dark day seem bright.
Dream what you want to dream; go where you want to go; be what you want to be, because you have only one life and one chance to do all the things you want to do.
Always put yourself in the other's shoes. If you feel that it hurts you, it probably hurts the person too.
A careless word may kindle strife; a cruel word may wreck a life; a timely word may level stress; a loving word may heal and bless.
The happiest of people don't necessarily have the best of everything they just make the most of everything that comes along their way.
Love begins with a smile, grows with a kiss, ends with a tear. When you were born, you were crying and everyone around you was smiling. Live your life so that when you die, you're the one smiling and everyone around you is crying.
There was once a guy who suffered from cancer, a cancer that can?'t be cured. He was 18 years old and he could die anytime. All his life, he was stuck in his house being taken cared by his mother. He never went outside but he was sick of staying home and wanted to go out for once. So he asked his mother and she gave him permission.
He walked down his block and found a lot of stores. He passed a CD store and looked through the front door for a second as he walked. He stopped and went back to look into the store. He saw a beautiful girl about his age and he knew it was love at first sight. He opened the door and walked in, not looking at anything else but her. He walked closer and closer until he was finally at the front desk where she sat.
She looked up and asked, “Can I help you?”
She smiled and he thought it was the most beautiful smile he has ever seen before and wanted to kiss her right there.
He said, “Uh… Yeah… Umm… I would like to buy a CD.”
He picked one out and gave her money for it.
"Would you like me to wrap it for you?” she asked, smiling her cute smile again.
He nodded and she went to the back. She came back with the wrapped CD and gave it to him. He took it and walked out of the store.
He went home and from then on, he went to that store every day and bought a CD, and she wrapped it for him. He took the CD home and put it in his closet. He was still too shy to ask her out and he really wanted to but he couldn't. His mother found out about this and told him to just ask her. So the next day, he took all his courage and went to the store as usual. He bought a CD like he did every day and once again she went to the back of the store and came back with it wrapped. He took it and when she wasn't looking, he left his phone number on the desk and ran out…
One day the phone rang, and the mother picked it up and said, “Hello?”
It was the girl! The mother started to cry and said, “You don?'t know? He passed away yesterday…”
The line was quiet except for the cries of the boy's mother. Later in the day, the mother went into the boy?'s room because she wanted to remember him. She thought she would start by looking at his clothes. So she opened the closet.
She was face to face with piles and piles and piles of unopened CDs. She was surprised to find all these CDs and she picked one up and sat down on the bed and she started to open one. Inside, there was a CD and as she took it out of the wrapper, out fell a piece of paper. The mother picked it up and started to read it. It said: Hi… I think U R really cute. Do u wanna go out with me? Love, Jocelyn.
The mother was deeply moved and opened another CD…
Again there was a piece of paper. It said: Hi… I think U R really cute. Do u wanna go out with me? Love, Jocelyn.
Love is… when you?'ve had a huge fight but then decide to put aside your egos, hold hands and say, “I Love You.”

Keep Your Direction
What would you do if you failed? Many people may choose to give up. However, the surest way to success is to keep your direction and stick to your your way to success, you must keep your direction. It is just like a lamp, guiding you in darkness and helping you overe obstacles on your way. Otherwise, you will easily get lost or hesitate to go ahead.
Direction means objectives. You can get nowhere without an objective in life. You can try to write your objective on paper and make some plans to achieve it. In this way,you will know how to arrange your time and to spend your time properly. And you should also have a belief that you are sure to succeed as long as you keep your direction all the time.

If there are a bunch of good and bad oranges, you should eat good oranges and throw away bad oranges; if you first eat bad oranges, good oranges will deteriorate, and you will never eat good oranges, life is also the case. Oranges are not the only fuit 。It means that there are a lot of good things in life, we cant only pursue the only one.
It tells us that people should know how to give up the bad and cherish the good. "If you cry only by missing the moon, then you will also miss the stars. "Everyone must know how to forget the past and cherish the present, because now is the most important.
Everyone has the past, or happy, or sad. However, the past is only in the past, we cannot go back to the past and bury it deeply in our heart. Most of the time we live in the sun, living in the crowd. Only by knowing how to give up the past we can go further forward. We will always keep optimistic attitude to face all, and we will have great courage in the struggle on the road of life.

Different people have different opinions. Somesmokers think smoking is a kind of enjoyment, andthey could live without food but will die withoutsmoking.
Hello, ladies and gentlemen. It’s great to be here. First of all, thanks for your coming. Tonight, what I am gonna talk about is innovation. Who can tell me what is innovation? We all know that, since 1978, China has been through the greatest changes brought by the reform and opening-up. So what we can see from the reform and opening-up? The power of innovation. That’s why I am here. I am here to show you my Chinese dream.
I want to talk about the future and how were going to win it. If we want to make innovation. But firstly, we should make sure that China is a place where we can make it if we try, where we can go as far as hard work and big dreams will take us. We understand that it’s not going to be a cakewalk, this competition for the future, which means all of us are going to have to do our best. We are going to have to win the future by being smarter and working harder and working together. Innovation is the spirit of our country, the motive force for our country’s prosperity.
Sparking the imagination and creativity of our people, unleashing new discoveries -- thats what China will do better than any other country on Earth. From the moment we have a new idea, we can explore it; we can develop it with a research grant; we can protect it with a patent; we can market it with a loan to start a new business. We’ve got a chain that takes a great idea all the way through. We must be confirmed that, today, the challenges we face are real. They are serious they are many. They will not be met easily or in a short span of time. But we will somehow find a way to overcome the difficulties. My major is XXX. My is to discover or create new drugs for many diseases like cancer. You know that laboratory is the place where miracles happen. Believe it or not.
What I do can save millions of people’s lives. For a long time, what challenges me is how to commercialize research. You come up with a great idea, but moving that new discovery from theory to practice or from the lab to the marketplace, thats really a big 。 That’s what we should focus on. We need to act with a sense of urgency-to study and work and create as if the fate of the country depends on us-because it does. It depends on us. Thank you!

ladies and gentlemen, this is joe biden, im filling in for president obama, while he addresses the nato summit in wales.
when the president and i took office in january of , this nation was in the midst of the greatest economic crisis since the great depression. our economy had plummeted1 at a rate of 8% in a single quarter-part of the fastest economic decline any time in the last half century. millions of families were falling underwater on their homes and threatened with foreclosure. the iconic american automobile2 industry was under siege.
but yesterdays jobs report was another reminder3 of how far weve come. weve had 54 straight months of job creation. and thats the longest streak4 of uninterrupted job growth in the united states history.
weve gone from losing 9 million jobs during the financial crisis to creating 10 million jobs. weve reduced the unemployment rate from 10% in october of to 6.1% today. and for the first time since the 1990s, american manufacturing is steadily5 adding jobs-over 700,000 since 。 and surveys of both american and foreign business leaders confirm that america once again is viewed as the best place in the world to build and invest.
thats all good news.
but an awful lot of middle class americans are still not feeling the effects of this recovery. since the year , gross domestic product-our gdp - has risen by 25%。 and productivity in america is up by 30%。 but middle class wages during that same time period have gone up by only fourteen cents.
folks, its long past time to cut the middle class back into the deal, so they can benefit from the economic growth they helped create. folks, there used to be a bargain in this country supported by democrats6 and republicans, business and labor7. the bargain was simple. if an employee contributed to the growth and profitability of the company, they got to share in the profits and the benefits as well. thats what built the middle class. its time to restore the bargain, to deal the middle class back in. because, folks, when the middle class does well, everybody does well-the wealthy get wealthier and the poor have a way up.

Everyone knows the name of Shakespeare but not much about his personal life.
Do you know how William Shakespeare lived before he went to London?
What about his family?
What were his dreams and ambitions?
What did he do when he first came to London to try his fortune?
Today, I want to introduce the early life of William Shakespeare and his great influence to the world.
Family:
Shakespeare was born and pought up in Stratford . He was the son of John Shakespeare, an alderman and a successful glover, and Mary Arden , the daughter of a landowning farmer. He had two older sisters, Joan and Judith , and two younger pothers, Gilbert and Richard.
At the age of 18, Shakespeare married 26-year-old Anne Hathaway , who was an English poet, actor and playwright.Six months after the marriage Anne gave birth to a daughter, Susanna in 1583. Twins, a son and a daughter followed almost two years later and were born in 1585. As Shakespeare had some good friends, Hamnet and Judith Sadler, he named the twins after them, so his son was calledHamnet and his daughter Judith. Unfortunately, in 1596, his son Hamnet died of unknown causes at the age of 11.
This is thefamily tree of Shakespeare’s family and this picture depicts Shakespeare as a family man surrounded by his children, who listened to his stories. Anne was portrayed at the right as an idealized housewife, sewing a garment.
Dreams and ambitions:
When Shakespeare was young, he had a dream of being a poet. With great ambition and determination, Shakespeare was diligent in his studies. He read a lot about books, poetry and writers. When he left school, he worked for his father. However, Shakespeare wasn’t interested in his father’s business. He was still reading a lot and was already writing poems himself.
In the summer months companies of players often came to small towns, and in 1587 five different companies came. Shakespeare always went to see the plays. He loved to talk to the actors and to listen to all their stories of London. He yearned for London, and therefore, he made a decision to get away from his hometown and left for London to pursue his goal.
Early life in London:
Shakespeare was good at acting. He worked for the Queen’s Men at the theatre called The Curtain up in Shoreditch. He acted four small parts in two different plays. He played a soldier and a murderer in one play, and in the other play he was a thief, and also an Italian lord in love with the Queen of the Night. And he loved it.
One day, Shakespeare met Burbage, an actor of Lord Strange ’s Men , who invited him to work with Lord Strange’s Men at the Rose theatre on Bankside. Shakespeare worked harder than ever at the Rose. By 1592 London was hearing the name William Shakespeare again and again.
After 1594, Shakespeare"s plays were performed only by the Lord Chamberlain"s Men .The Lord Chamberlain was a very important man, close to the Queen, and Shakespeare put on plays for the Queen’s court and in the houses of the great lords of England. Among the actors, Shakespeare was special-because he wrote plays. He was always trying something new, something different. And he wrote fast, too.
In 1596, His writing changed after Hamnet’s death. Shakespeare still laughed at people in his plays, but he also felt sorry for them- sorry for all the world, good and bad, rich and poor, young and old. And his people were real. No one was all good, or all bad.
These are all about Shakespeare’s early life and now I want to introduce Shakespeare’s lasting influence on
theatre and literature.
Firstly , he expanded the dramatic potential of characterization, plot, language, and genre. Until Romeo and Juliet , for example, romance had not been viewed as a worthy topic for tragedy. Soliloquies had been used mainly to convey information about characters or events; but Shakespeare used them to explore characters" minds. Secondly , his works heavily influenced later poetry . The Romantic poets attempted to revive Shakespearean verse drama, though with little success. Last but not least , his use of language helped shape modern English. He introduced almost 3,000 words to the English language and used over 7,000 words only once in his plays.
Here are some of his sayings in his well-known works.

The concept of success is not constant but relative because the nature of difficulty is also relative. Something you do effortlessly might pose a great difficulty for a handicapped person. In acquiring the ability to do the same as you can, he or she achieve success. Thats e out first, it e young prince and the 4-step definition of success. You my have noticed that the usual worldly criteria of wealth, position and fame were not mentioned as part of the story, but rather, it emphasized the process of overcoming difficulties. Everyone has pressure, as long as you have things done or to heart, the pressure will go unnoticed in the attachment in the man's body, cause all sorts of "symptoms", for example: can't sleep, reduce appetite, or in a bad mood... And so on.
My pressure is not home after finish homework can't write, often busy to midnight; Dad's pressure is accounting work done; Mother's pressure because he was a career woman, a candle burning at both ends and worry can't give attention to both family and work is good, and her sister's pressure is myopic degree increased very fast, it is difficult to control.
Pressure are not necessarily bad, there are also some is good. The rules in our class, for example: not diligent student didn't change class will not be able to finish homework, because of the pressure, a heartbreaker for these people, finally they decided to change my homework finished, also get real learning, no longer look for excuses to slack off. So the pressure is often motivates us go forward.
Large and small pressure exists in our life, we should be appropriate to adjust the mood, the pressure into power, so as to let the life become more colorful.

Mary was an English girl, but she lived in Rome. She was six years old. Last year her mother said to her, “You’re six years old now, Mary, and you’re going to begin going to a school here. You’re going to like it very much, because it’s a nice school.”
“Is it an English school” Mary asked.” Yes, it is,” her mother said. Mary went to the school, and enjoyed her lessons. Her mother always took her to school in the morning and brought her home in the afternoon. Last Monday her mother went to the school at 4 o’clock, and Mary ran out of her class. “We’ve got a new girl in our class today, Mummy,” she said. “She’s six years old too, and she’s very nice, but she isn’t English. She’s German.” “Does she speak English” Mary’s mother asked.” No, but she laughs in English,” Mary said happily.

ladies and gentlemen:
Today I would like to begin with a story. There was once a physical therapist who traveled all the way from America to Africa to do a census about mountain gorillas. These gorillas are a main attraction to tourists from all over the world; this put them severely under threat of poaching and being put into the zoo. She went there out of curiosity, but what she saw strengthened her determination to devote her whole life to fighting for those beautiful creatures. She witnessed a scene, a scene taking us to a place we never imaged we've ever been, where in the very depth of the African rainforest, surrounded by trees, flowers and butterflies, the mother gorillas cuddled their babies.
Yes, that's a memorable scene in one of my favorite movies, called Gorillas in the Mist, based on a true story of Mrs. Diana Fossey, who spent most of her lifetime in Rwanda to protect the ecoenvironment there until the very end of her life.
To me, the movie not only presents an unforgettable scene but also acts as a timeless reminder that we should not develop the tourist industry at the cost of our eco-environment.
Today, we live in a world of prosperity but still threatened by so many new problems. On the one hand, tourism, as one of the most promising industries in the 21st century, provides people with the great opportunity to see everything there is to see and to go any place there is to go. It has become a lifestyle for some people, and has turned out to be the driving force in GDP growth. It has the magic to turn a backward town into a wonderland of prosperity. But on the other hand, many problems can occur - natural scenes aren't natural anymore. Deforestation to heat lodges are devastating Nepal. Oil spills from tourist boats are polluting Antarctica. Tribal people are forsaking their native music and dress to listen to U2 on Walkman and wear Nike and Reeboks.
All these appalling facts have brought us to the realization that we can no longer stand by and do nothing, because the very thought of it has been eroding our resources. Encouragingly, the explosive growth of global travel has put tourism again in the spotlight, which is why the United Nations has made 20xx the year of ecotourism, for the first time to bring to the world's attention the benefits of tourism, but also its capacity to destroy our ecoenvironment.
Now every year, many local ecoenvironmental protection organizations are receiving donations - big notes, small notes or even coins - from housewives, plumbers, ambulance drivers, salesmen, teachers, children and invalids. Some of them cannot afford to send the money but they do. These are the ones who drive the cabs, who nurse in hospitals, who are suffering from ecological damage in their neighborhood. Why? Because they care. Because they still want their Mother Nature back. Because they know it still belongs to them.
This kind of feeling that I have, ladies and gentlemen, is when it feels like it, smells like it, and looks like it , it's all coming from a scene to be remembered, a scene to recall and to cherish.
The other night, as I saw the moon linger over the land and before it was sent into the invisible, my mind was filled with songs. I found myself humming softly, not to the music, but to something else, someplace else, a place remembered, a place untouched, a field of grass where no one seemed to have been except the deer.
And no matter who we are, what we do and where we go, in our minds, there's always a scene to remember, a scene worth our effort to protect it and fight for it.
Thank you very much.

Good afternoon,ladies and gentlemen!
I’m very honored to stand here and give you a short speech! To begin with ,I want to ask a question .Does everybody dream a good dream last night? Actually ,today I want to talk about dream with you. Of course, What I want to talk is not a dream you have last night, but a dream-- about life.
Everyone has dreams about life, different dreams at different life stage, and we need dreams to support us. Dreams are like the stars we never reach in the sky,but like most mariners,we can chart our course by them. With the dream,we have a direction, with a direction, we were no longer confused. With the dream, there is hope,With hope, we have the strength to fight.
I have a dream: To be a doctor.,because doctor may relieve the pain of patients. May let the human change the health. At the same time, I believed that, those who help others may be able to obtain joyfully. Therefore, I hoped in the near future ,I might be a doctor.
But I know, life is tough, and there are always ups and downs, maybe we fail in the way to our aims, and we may feel depressed ,whenever at this time, the dream in our heart can always comfort us, encourage us ,and support us to move ahead .
Young!Fortunately, I am young now. Just due to it, I know that nothing is impossible.I firmly believe that nothing can stand in my way. If I cant realize my dream,it result from that I havent work harder enough and I wont find other excuses. If no people believe you, you can make it to prove that you are right. If you think the god havent blessed you and there is no truth here, you can become the god and create the truth.
"My breath swallows the sky and make the yellow river overflow, my sword is famous in Kyushu and it can collapse the five sacred mountains." At some time in the past I also had am bitious words and I had some achievements. Each achievement results from my hard work. I always believe that "If you want to have more achievements than others, you must work harder." In some extent, the dream is the hope. If you can insist on doing something, the victory will come.
Hold fast to dreams, for if dreams die, life is a broken-winged bird that cannot fly. Hold fast to dreams, for when dreams go, life is a barren field frozen with snow. So my dear friends, think of your old and maybe dead dreams. Whatever it is, pick it up and make it alive from today. Lets--- move ----out!
Thank you for your listening!
Best wishes!

Learn How to Say No
Weve all been taught that we should help people. It is the right thing to do and will make us popular with others. It may even win us favors in return. However, we must be realistic. We cant say yes to every request. If we did, we would fail or go crazy for sure. Sometimes we simply dont have the time to help. In this case, we must know how to say no politely.
When we need to say no, here is one method we can try. First, we should tell the truth. If we really cant do something, we should just say so. Second, we should remember to refuse requests politely. We must communicate clearly, but must also be sincere and sympathetic. A true friend will understand. Finally, we must not feel guilty about saying no. Sometimes refusing others is the right thing to do. It can save ourselves, and them, a lot of trouble. In short, we cannot please everyone all the time. Refusing favors is a part of life.

Good afternoon everyone. Thanksgiving is the fulcrum of learning, is a wonderful feeling, is grateful to everyone and everything in the world for all their help. Thanksgiving is a fine tradition of our nation, is a person of integrity at least moral character.
Thanksgiving is the key to return. Return is the feeding, training, instruction, guidance, help, support oneself, be grateful, and through its own 10 times, 100 times the pay, and repay them with practical action.
Then, as a student, how to practise Thanksgiving?
First of all ,we should thank our parents. Everyones life is a
continuation of the blood of the parents, the parents give us love, let us enjoy affection and happiness, therefore, we would like to thank our parents.
Secondly, we should thank nature. Nature is the basis for all living. The life activity of human cannot do without it, our basic necessities of life are derived from nature, therefore, we should be thankful to nature.
Thirdly, we should thank our teachers. Teachers are the leaders of our growth, are our friends. The teachers respect, understand and care for us, teach by precept and example, let us benefit for life. The teacher paid with
blood and sweat for us, we should be grateful for the teacher.
Fourthly, we should thank our fellows. Students are our fellows. The students encourage each other, help each other, overcome difficulties and setbacks, share success and happiness of learning. We should be grateful for the students we accompanied every day.
Fifthly, we should thank our school. The school provides a good study environment for us. School is the place that we exercise, a stage to display our talent, we should be thankful to schools.
Lastly, we should thank our motherland 。The motherland is our roots, our source. No homeland, we do not have the habitat ;no motherland, we will be no human dignity; no homeland, we have not all! We should be thankful to our motherland.

Honourable judges, ladies and gentlemen,
Good afternoon! Today I would like to talk about the importance of keeping optimistic. When we encounter difficulties in life, we notice that some of us choose to bury their heads in the sand. Unfortunately, however, this attitude will do you no good, because if you will have no courage even to face them, how can you conquer them? Thus, be optimistic, ladies and gentlemen, as it can give you confidence and help you see yourself through the hard times, just as Winston Churchill once said, “An optimist sees an opportunity in every calamity; a pessimist sees a calamity in every opportunity.”
Ladies and Gentlemen, keeping optimistic, you will be able to realize, in spite of some hardship, there’s always hope waiting for you, which will lead you to the ultimate success. Historically as well as currently, there are too many optimists of this kind to enumerate. You see, Thomas Edison is optimistic; if not, the light of hope in his heart could not illuminate the whole world. Alfred Nobel is optimistic; if not, the explosives and the prestigious Nobel Prize would not have e into being. And Lance Armstrong is also optimistic; if not, the devil of cancer would have devoured his life and the world would not see a 5-time winner of the Tour De France.
A rose may be beautiful, or maybe not; that depends on your attitude only, and so does success, so does life. Hindrances and difficulties do exist, but if you are optimistic, then they are only episodes on your long way to the throne of success; they are more bridges than obstacles! Now I prefer to end my speech with the great British poet Shelley’s lines: “If winter es, can spring be far behind?” Thank you!

Ladies and Gentlemen:
Good afternoon.
Today I will say something about my family love.
I remember when I was younger. My family lived a simple life. We weren't wealthy by any stretch of the imagination, but we were content with what we had.
Our first vehicle was an old broken-down bicycle. It provided us with transportation on many enjoyable weekends and holidays. Mom sat on the back while Dad pedaled. I, a mere toddler at the time, rode on the bar in front of him. It didn't matter where we were going as long as we were going there together.
Not long after that, my family moved to Hainan. Relying on my parents, courage and persistence, they started their own business. As a result, we were soon able to replace the bike with a new car. So we could travel further on our excursions. Our family's happy laughter filled the car as we traveled to many distant locations in China. Many years have gone by since those happy days, but we're still as close as ever.
Recently, the airplane has become our mode of transportation as we venture beyond the confines of China to see the world. We were able to experience firsthand the uniqueness of Amsterdam, the romance of Paris, and the elegance of Vienna. But yet, such fantastic sites were nothing compared to the love of our family.
Time goes by swiftly, and everything is changing all the time.Yet the love existing in my family always remains. It is the source of our happiness; It,s the source of all of our ideals: confidence, courage, and faith. But it goes so much deeper than that; it warms our very hearts. So I will acclaim for the eternal and awesome love in my family and let it go on forever!
Thank you very much!

The Low-Carbon Economic
Nowadays, with more and more serious problem such as the global increasing temperture, the melting ice and the rising sea-levering,people are recognizing the important of developing the low-carbon economic now.
There are many ways we can do to reach the loe-carbon tly, discovering others fuels which is more clean and more green to instead of the using of ndly, we should have the save-energy conscious and do something which we can make, for instance, using the bus ranther than car when you go out,re-use the thing that can be recycle used, reducing the use of plastic but not least,we should plant more trees or other greenplants,in which way we can not only improve the environment, but also can make our home more beauty.
In my opnion, the most important thing to reach the low-carbon economic is everyone must try their best do what they can do for everyone have the sence of low-carbon economic and have the action by themselves ,it will be earlier to reach it.

as teachers and our students, the most important gratitude is a school. schools to give us a big growth stage of life: bright and spacious classrooms, new desks and chairs, air-conditioned and well-being, as well as multi-media facilities, has provided us with an attractive learning environment. read one book bright and clean rooms, provides us with knowledge of the marine tour; flat beautiful big playground, provided us with a good place for the exercise, and pottery room, computer room, dance room, multi-purpose hall, and so on, no school is not out of devotion to our selfless love!
however, in these beautiful places, often with some notes of discord. read books in one room, some students read the book, abandonment, i do not know the original release, there is more tear, using the phenomenon of the book; when the red and green and white artificial big playground to open it selfless embrace, and some of the scenes of discord hurt our eyes: a wide range of confetti, colorful tang zhi, and scattered in all corners of the shell seeds, chewing gum, etc. the list goes on of these!

think about the things that your family does that deserve a “thank you.” you might say to your husband, “thank you for working so hard for our family, or, to your child, “i really appreciate your sense of humor - it feels good to laugh.” expressing your gratitude helps family members to understand how it feels to be appreciated.
and if they still don’t catch on, let them know when you feel unappreciated.you can also tell them how great it makes you feel when they do express is a wonderful motivator when you need cooperation.when enlisting the help of my two year old, i praise him often and with enthusiasm.i let him know that he is a great helper.i know i am teaching him appreciation because he expresses it to me.the other day i brought a bunch of multi-colored roses home.
for five days, at least once or twice a day, my son thanked me for the flowers.sometimes we get so busy and caught up in daily life that we forget to be grateful.
we expect everyone to do their share without being asked.the only time anyone hears anything is when a chore has not been completed.

good afternoon,
bidding for the olympic games is, in a way, an image-creating undertaking. the first and foremost thing is to let people fall in love
with the city at first sight, attracting them by its unique image. what image does beijing intend to create for itself once it has the opportunity to host the XX olympics? it’s known to all that the beijing municipal government has already set the theme for the future games: new beijing, great olympics. for me, the XX olympics will be a great green olympics illuminated with two more special colors, yellow and red.
first, yellow is a meaningful color. the yellow river is china’s mother river and the cradle of chinese civilization. we are of the yellow race and descendants of the yellow emperor. this color has a special origin and great significance for the chinese people. beijing is the capital of new china and previously the capital for nine dynasties in chinese history. so, yellow will naturally add splendor to the XX games.
secondly, the XX olympics will be a red pageant.
red is another traditionally cherished color for the whole country. we adore red. on big occasions, we like to decorate our homes in red. it is the color of double happiness, representing joyous moments, 1)auspiciousness, enthusiasm and prosperity. red is one of the most suitable colors to describe the future of beijing. beijing, together with the whole country, is becoming more and more prosperous in the process of modernization. should the XX olympics be held in beijing, the whole city will be a sea of red: the red torch, red flags, red flowers, and the radiant faces of millions of joyful people.
above all, the XX olympics will be a green olympics.
adding the green 2) ingredient is essential in creating an appealing image, as we can’t deny the fact that beijing, at the moment, is not as green a city as what we like it to be. striving for an environmentally appealing city has become a central task for all the citizens of beijing. big efforts have been made in pollution control, replanting and beautification of the city. according to a project entitled “the green olympic action plan,” between 1998 and XX, beijing will have invested 100 billion rmb in preserving and protecting the environment. some 12.5 million trees and over 1 million acres of grass will be planted along the fourth ring road. by then, the city’s green area will make up 40% of its total. the city will also dredge its 3) reservoirs used as a water supply to beijing residents, controlling industrial pollution and moving out the 200 factories presently located within the city proper.
certainly, all of this is no easy task. but i am sure that all of us have confidence that we will realize these “green” goals, for now we have the full support and participation of the environmentally conscious citizens. each citizen is showing great concern for every one of the steps the city government takes. as the saying goes, “united, we stand”, and a green beijing will be achieved.
when our aspiration becomes a reality, it will be a unique olympics. “new beijing, great olympics” will be weaved of these three superb colors: yellow, red and green.
let us welcome it and look forward to it! thank you!

when finishing the high school course, not every student has the chance or ability to go to college. some students choose to seek a job, start their own business or pursue other interest. however, for some students who want to get further education, they choose self-education, self-education is no better than university studies.
on the one hand, self-education lacks of a well-defined structure. in the school, the teacher will make some plans for students’ studies; they plan the target, the fulfillment of expectation and assessment of the program. with these, students can know their own flaws, making progress gradually. while self-learners may lose themselves, they have no test, no homework and no exam; it is hard for them to know how to get improved.
on the other hand, self-education doesn’t provide the environment which students can learn from each other. college provides students the stage to communicate with others, making friends; students can also have the chance to enhance the ability of team work and readership. those abilities are very important for students, when they are finding a job, they have the advantages.
self-education is a way of gaining knowledge; i prefer to study in college, because i like to communicate with friends. though self-education can’t take place for university studies, we can choose to learn elective courses in that way.
