Therefore, I believe that we should never give up.
One reason is that if we give up too easily, we will rarely achieve anything. it was a cloudless day. the warmth of the fall sun made the day seem as if it would be perfect. yes, for me perhaps, but not exactly for the technician who was working on one of my laboratory machines. the technician definitely knew what he was doing and seemed exceptionally qualified except for one thing. he was no electrician. he had found a motor that he identified as being bad. the motor shaft was much too difficult to turn and he had indicated that this was a major problem. "expect two to three days for a new one to arrive," he said.
one thing my frienddidn't understand is that when power is supplied to a generator, it becomes a motor and when mechanical power is applied to a motor, it becomes a generator. during the process of his working on the machine he disconnected the leads to the motor and spun the shaft turning the motor into a generator. disconnecting the leads in effect took the load off the motor, the leads being connected causing the motor not to turn freely. he looked rather perplexed to see the motor shaft spin so freely. for reasons unknown to me, he spun the shaft again and grabbed the wires protrudingfromthe motor. i don't believe i have ever heard quite the string of expletives that this man let flyfromhis mouth. with his eyes widened he had to slap his hand loosefromthe wires as the flow of generated electricity locked the grip of his hand.
now this being funny all by itself, it evidently wasn't funny enough for the technician because he spun the motor and grabbed the leads again. another string of expletives that have never been heard previously by man were unleashed unto the world.

大家好！
我今天演讲的题目是《放飞梦想》。
我是一个普通的小学生，没有过人的智力，没有严谨的。思维，没有特别准确的判断，但是我有自己的当老师的梦想。在我眼里，老师的知识是渊博的，我要向老师学习；而且，他们良好的品德、言行给我留下了深刻的印象。
我知道离梦想早一天实现还有很长的路要走，但我相信梦想是人生的启明星，能指引正确的方向；梦想是人生的徽章和目标。因为梦想，生活才会精彩！因为梦想，明天会更辉煌！
坚信并放下梦想，我不会轻易放弃！树立信念，放下梦想，就能实现愿望！让梦想飞翔，让信念绽放，我要为梦想努力学 在雄伟的天安门城楼上，在人民大会堂，在祖国的各个海关，在人民法庭上，无一例外都悬挂着国徽。每当我们看到庄严美丽的国徽，心里便会激起一股崇高的爱国之情。我国宪法规定：中华人民共和国国徽，中央是五星照耀下的，周围是谷穗和齿轮。
国徽呈圆形，圆形的中间上方是璀璨夺目的五颗金星，下方是雄伟端庄的城楼，城楼的正下部是一个金色的齿轮，齿轮两边的谷穗对称地向上环抱，至正中的顶部相合。齿轮的中心又系着两条红绸，以一定的弧形伸向两边，而后向下垂挂，使圆形的国徽有了坚实稳重之感。国徽的基本色彩是红黄两色，显示出热烈、美丽、崇高、庄严。
我们中华民族有着悠久的历史，创造了灿烂的民族文化，为世界文明作出过巨大贡献。中华民族不但以勤劳勇敢著称于世，同时又是酷爱自由、畜于革命传统的民族。具有民族特色的雄伟端庄的城楼正面图横贯国徽的中下方，正是象征着中华民族的悠久历史文化和威武不屈的英姿。
齿轮、谷穗分别象征粉工人阶级与农民阶级。金色的齿轮，仿佛带动粉业个国家飞速向前，硕大的谷穗象征着农民的丰收和人民的幸福。
国徽上的五颗星，代表在中国共产党领导下的全国各民族、各阶层人民的大团结。共产党就像灯塔一般指引着前进的航向，亿万人民，心心向粉共产党，坚强团结，众志成城。
国徽是国家的标志，她代表着我们伟大社会主义祖国的尊严，所以我们要爱护国徽，就像爱护自己的眼睛一样！

The tempo of modern civilization has been much quickened in the last twenty years. While witnessing the dramatic changes in the better-off society, people begin to reconsider the question of "survival". "Survival" in the old sense does not bother us anymore. Instead, we are more concerned about how to "survive" in the human world full of competition.
Competition always carries abreast challenges and opportunities to everyone involved. It might appear in an entrance exam, in a regular class, or in a small public speech. Those who fail to detect its real nature-whether an opportunity or a challenge a competition really is- will lose something more or less conducive to our growth. Of course, if we take the competition as an opportunity, we will favor it intentionally because they can help us outstand from the average; they will make us become the focus of public attention; they will grant us more chances and rights to succeed. As a matter of fact, opportunities are supposed to be more perceptible and welcoming than challenges. The truth is, however, we will lose more opportunities when we choose to take the "opportunity" fork at the crossroads. The other fork, ignored by us and defined as "fearful challenges", offers much more chances for the walker in competition.
We have such an inclination in life to overestimate ourselves and hold a thoughtless attitude towards the negative outlook of things.
We believe in the old saying, "Opportunity knocks but just once," so we always welcome it and devote all our spirit and efforts to it. The most devout believer of this saying are the graduates. Why? There are quite a number of them who pay full attention to positions in big cities and are willing to flood into developed areas under any circumstances, even though there will be too much uncertainty for their choices. Innumerable cases go straight to the same miserable end: God seems to refuse to help too many of His worshipers.
In conclusion, to define the quuality of competition seems to be far from valuable sense, for no matter what a competition is, an opportunity or a challenge, it will create nutritious elements for our growth.
So take a positive look at everything around. Keep our face to the sunshine, and we will not see the shadows.
